Jami Prins is a native of Ohio who graduated from the University of Montana in 1981 with a BA in history/political science and the University of Montana School of Law in 1984. After law school, she turned down a clerkship with Montana Supreme Court Justice Sheehy to marry a career military officer. Jami has had a long and varied legal career all over the country but always wanted to return to Montana. She was thrilled to make her way back to Missoula in 2012 and is enjoying her position at the Law Office of Joan E. Cook. Her experience includes teaching Lexis (electronic legal research) to attorneys and law students, training paralegals, private practice and the corporate legal departments of Sea World in San Antonio, TX and Orlando, FL. She specializes in contracts and family law. She is licensed in Texas and passed the Montana bar exam in February 2017. When she is not working she reads, spends time with old friends and her daughter and grandson who accompanied her back “home” to Missoula.
